First, we made it lighter. Our factory has gone back to the drawing board to re-engineer the airframe from cowl to rudder, tip to tip. More lightening holes, less wood overall, and balsa subsititued for heavier woods have produced a strong, but significantly lighter airframe. We then complete the model with a lightweight proprietary covering that provides a professional finish to the model, yet it retains the repairability you expect from a wood airframe aircraft (we even include extra covering for mis-haps and dings from those less-than-friendly flying sites). Cowl is factory painted, pants are factory joined, and the new windows are molded and cut to shape for easy installation.
The model is accessorized with quality hardware and parts that you'd choose yourself for any model of this size. We use custom made mini horns, adjustable clevises, and matching threaded pushrods for convenience and easy adjustment. The main landing gear is now formed aluminum instead of the older style metal rods. Of course, you'll be guided through assembly and installation with a detailed assembly manual. All of this makes for a model that is easy to build, easy to setup and trim, and provides a long lasting, quality model you can be proud to own and fly.
In the air is where it really counts and the Super Impress II is designed to Impress even the most experienced pilot. The range of motors and performance available from the aircraft is staggering. With our 370 motor, 3.67:1 geardrive, 7.5x5 WattAge propeller, and 5/4AAA batteries, the Super Impress makes a great aileron trainer and easy Sunday Flyer at a wing loading of under 10 oz/sq foot. This power system is amazing for it's weight and size and it flies this 300 square inch wing aircraft like a trainer!
But step up to a 480 brushless, larger cells (or Lipo's) and matching prop and esc, increase the control throws, and watch out! Your friends will be amazed at the maneuverability and performance of this beautiful aircraft. And, more importantly you'll be having a blast flying battery after battery! From Mild to Wild, the Super Impress II will make an impression on you!
